John Cena's 10 Greatest WWE Moments
1. Money In The Bank 2011
Sadly, people forgot about that epic with Michaels pretty quickly, as Cena's constant habit of winning showed no signs of stopping as we headed into a new decade. Hence the reaction of a rabid Chicago crowd desperate to see their hometown heel walk out of Money In The Bank - and the company - with the WWE's top prize.
Cena and CM Punk made magic in the ring together on a regular basis around this time; they actually had matches after this that were better from a technical standpoint, but nothing could compare to their MITB showdown. The energy in the Allstate Arena was spine-tingling, and the action was beautifully crafted from both performers.
Props to John here; when the crowd are entirely against him and his back is against the wall, he delivers in Big Match John style. No salute or wisecracks on the entranceway; as Michael Cole said on commentary: "Tonight, John Cena is in enemy territory." This, like ECW One Night Stand 2006, took the WWE landscape back to a time when it felt like kayfabe was still intact, and there aren't many wrestlers working today who can manage that.
