John Cena's 10 Greatest WWE Moments
3. Putting Over Kevin Owens (Kind Of) - Elimination Chamber 2015
Strictly from the first encounter between these guys up to their initial champion vs. champion encounter at the 2015 Elimination Chamber was perfect. After that, we could have done without Cena getting two wins over Owens and moving on, but there was no better way to have KO debut on the main roster than beating the invincible John Cena.
In 2015, the Candian comes out to interrupt Cena on Raw, NXT title in hand. Kevin Owens beats John Cena (in the midst of that fine US title run) as clean as you like at Elimination Chamber. It set Owens up for greatness, despite moving back a step during the rest of the feud.
It also made NXT look like a legit contender to Raw and SmackDown way before Survivor Series did it. John Cena wasn't the world champion at the time, but he was still John Cena, the 16-time champ. Owens working with him in his first feud on Raw was already showing the world how highly the company ranked him, and when he went over clean it was a stunning result. As a bonus, the matches between them were phenomenal, Cena hanging with an indie darling was big for his image.
