Kurt Angle's 6 WWE Title Reigns Ranked From Worst To Best
4. WWF Championship (1st) 22 October 2000 - 25 February 2001
When Kurt Angle first won the WWF Championship from The Rock at No Mercy 2000, it was earned, despite his relative inexperience. Angle was one of the most enjoyable characters to watch on a weekly basis in the company at the time, and was ridiculously good for someone so new in the business.
The reign itself, though, saw the goofy champion constantly win due to help from someone (literally everyone from Stephanie McMahon to Rikishi to Trish Stratus to Vince McMahon, you name it!) despite being a Gold Medal winner and a legit badass.
The highlight from this reign was in the very last match, with The Rock at No Way Out 2001, when Angle had 'The Brahma Bull' in the Ankle Lock and threatened to "break his f*cking ankle". It was the moment that changed everything and turned Angle into a more serious wrestler, leaving the goofiness for promos and segments.
This was Angle's very first reign as Heavyweight Champion and perhaps the most important one, but not necessarily the best.
