Kurt Angle's WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

4. Vs. Eddie Guerrero - WrestleMania XX

After Eddie Guerrero's fairytale WWE Championship win, Kurt Angle turned heel on him to step up as his first challenger, bringing up Eddie's past struggles with addiction and questioning whether he was the right man to represent the company at the top level. All of this led to a match between the two at WrestleMania XX.

The two would put on a tremendous match at the event, one that was only betted by the triple threat main event on the night. The Madison Square Garden crowd was as vociferous as ever when it came to Angle, with duelling 'Let's go Angle' and 'Angle Sucks' chants echoing around the World's Most Famous Arena .

It's easy to forget just how over Kurt Angle was during his WWE career.

The match had a cute finish, with Eddie loosening his boot while in the Ankle Lock, causing the boot to come off and allowing him to pin a charging Angle via small package.

The finish fit Eddie's character, but at the same time it seemed a little too light-hearted for what was such a fantastic wrestling match. I'm a big believer in 'Mania matches ending cleanly, and a clean win for Eddie here would have been the right decision. Still, it takes little away from the match itself, which was cracking.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
