Despite plentiful rumours that he'd be returning to WWE at some point this year, Chris Jericho firmly remains with AEW right now.

Previously, there were rumblings that the inaugural AEW World Champion would be back in WWE for Raw's one-year Netflix anniversary or at Royal Rumble, or even be tied to the recent 'mystery crate' reveal that ultimately saw Danhausen debut with the market leader. However, while his AEW contract was believed to be up at the turn of the year, time has been added on to that deal to extend Jericho's time being #AllElite.

Speaking on the latest edition of Fightful Select's SRS Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp noted how every wrestler's contract is different, and that the reason for this contract extension is due to Chris Jericho taking time off in 2025. The veteran last appeared for AEW back in April, on the post-Dynasty edition of Dynamite. Since then, Jericho has been completely absent from AEW programming, and some of that time has been spent performing with Fozzy.

Elsewhere, Dave Meltzer, speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, noted that AEW can freeze a contract whenever a performer takes time off, in turn adding that missed time to that deal. Meltzer said that nobody in AEW has disputed any of the talk of Jericho's deal being extended, further strengthening the belief that time has indeed been tacked onto the legend's contract.

As it stands, Chris Jericho remains part of the official AEW roster, and it remains to be seen when, or even if, that will change.
