Karrion Kross has been offered a new WWE contract - and the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer expects the former NXT Champion to stay with the Endeavor-owned promotion.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer reported that while he believed the story about Kross "not being signed to a contract" was legitimate, the 40-year-old did receive an offer.

Earlier this week, Fightful Select reported that Kross and valet Scarlett were yet to be offered new WWE contracts, with their existing deals set to expire this weekend (at the time of reporting). Of this, Meltzer said that this may have been accurate when the story went out, but he'd been told Kross has now received an offer.

Meltzer added that the whole situation "smells like an angle," in his opinion.

Kross' WWE future has been the subject of constant speculation for the past few months, with Karrion happy to lean into it himself. The situation accelerated after WrestleMania 41, when Kross (via an official WWE channel) launched into a fiery worked-shoot promo, firing off several expletives, seemingly aiming at the company for his lack of push.

WWE SummerSlam 2025 hosted Kross' last WWE match, with the former TNA star losing the third and final match in his rivalry with Sami Zayn. There was no sign of Karrion or Scarlett on this Monday's Raw.

The situation remains open. An offer is not an agreement, though Meltzer sounds confident that Karrion is staying with WWE.

Kross, who has been the subject of increased fan support in 2025, may yet work this into a televised storyline.
