Major Update On CM Punk's Latest Hangman Page BURIAL

Latest on CM Punk's post-AEW Collision burial of 'Hangman' Adam Page.

CM Punk's mouth was back in the headlines this past weekend, with the former AEW World Champion blasting rival 'Hangman' Adam Page in an incendiary post-Collision promo on Saturday evening.

After Collision had gone off the air, Punk called 'Hangman' a "peg warmer." Seemingly brought on by the 44-year-old seeing a Page sign in the crowd, the spiel saw Punk claim nobody was buying the Elite member's merchandise in a local supermarket he had visited, then chastise AEW wrestlers for calling themselves the "heart and soul" of the promotion without living up to it:-

"Hello, North Carolina. What is this? Huh? What is this? Look at this. “Carolina is Hangman Country.” Earlier today, I went to a local supermarket and I figured out why they call him Hangman is because the pegs in the Toy aisle are full of Hangman action figures. ’cause nobody wants to buy ’em. He’s a peg warmer, unlike me who moves merchandise and pops ratings and sells toys. We got everybody in AEW saying, ‘I’m the heart, I am the soul. I am the spirit.’ Well, that’s objective. What is a fact is the people who say that certainly aren’t the chin of AEW because the lights go out faster than what? GTS, go to sleep. I don’t know what I’m trying to do. I got rocked, too. I told the House, House of Black no chops, and they chopped me, so I’m very mad."

Punk, of course, was suspended indefinitely by AEW (along with Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and others) for brawling backstage after All Out 2022 that September. Page wasn't involved in the fight nor the punishment, though he was subjected to a verbal assault by Punk during the preceding press scrum.

Dave Meltzer of Figure Four Online/Wrestling Observer has reported that Punk's outburst wasn't a story. This is corroborated by PWInsider's Mike Johnson, who writes that currently, there are no plans for Page and Punk to feud in AEW. Johnson reports that the post-show happenings were "an off the cuff segment meant to thank the audience and hype them up for the Ring of Honor taping" that followed Collision.

In his report, Meltzer states that Page was actually scheduled to record a pretaped segment during the Collision tapings. However, he was told he would have to do it away from the arena shortly after arriving. There is currently no word on what time Page arrived at the building - whether it was before or after Punk's promo.

The Young Bucks, Omega, and Punk are prevented from commenting on the All Out fight thanks to a legal agreement. Punk and Page, however, are bound by no such restrictions on their own problems.

'Hangman' has not publically commented on the Collision situation.
