Major WWE Staff Morale Update Since Vince McMahon Resigned
Latest on WWE morale at company HQ following Vince McMahon's departure from wrestling.
WWE's recent regime change has sparked an upturn not only in locker room morale, but the mood at company headquarters as well.
PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that staff working at WWE's head office now enjoy a healthier work/life balance following Vince McMahon's resignation. Previously, employees worked in fear that putting themselves before the company could come back to haunt them, creating a "keep your head down" environment. Staff felt pressured into working "insane hours" and felt they could never turn their cell phones off, particularly higher up the corporate ladder, knowing they'd likely have to take calls late at night.
Now, the stress levels are easing off. New co-CEOs Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan, as well as reinstated Executive Vice President Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, have seemingly created a better environment. Staff don't feel guilty for leaving work at regular hours anymore, creating that better work/life balance.
Johnson writes that WWE employees also feel a lot better about running into members of the management team in the building. One source quipped that "running into Vince was like running into the T-Rex from Jurassic Park, you didn't want to call attention to yourself." Now, staff know they can enjoy a polite conversation with the bosses.
Outside of the office, employees now understand that working for WWE doesn't have to be their "unending purpose in life." Being employed by the company has become a more positive experience since the regime change.
Vince McMahon resigned in disgrace on 22 July, doing so amidst allegations that he had paid millions of dollars to suppress allegations of sexual misconduct, as broken by the Wall Street Journal.
