The planned Killian Dain vs. Alexander Wolfe singles match was pulled from last night's episode of WWE NXT because Wolfe was suffering from a stomach bug.

That's the kayfabe reason WWE is going with, at least, having confirmed the match's cancellation in the following YouTube upload prior to to the show:-

The segment starts with interviewer McKenzie Mitchell waiting outside the doctor's office. Wolfe emerges, having consulted with the medic. When Mitchell asks him about not being cleared to compete against Dain, Wolfe is accosted by his Imperium stablemates, Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner, telling them that "they don't want to let me compete tonight."

Wolfe then walks off. When the other Imperium members ask why their ally wasn't being allowed to compete, the medic said that Wolfe had told him he has a stomach bug, sidelining him for at least seven days. To say the least, Aichner and Barthel didn't exactly look convinced by this.

Dain and Wolfe were previously stablemates as part of Sanity from January 2017 to April 2019, when the group was split up in that year's Superstar Shake-Up. Last night would have been Wolfe's first match since December 2020.
