Misdemeanour Domestic Battery Case Against Jake Atlas Dropped

The case relates to an alleged incident from last month.

Following an arrest for misdemeanor domestic battery at the end of last month, the charge against former NXT star Jake Atlas has now been dropped.

Via TMZ, this case was deemed "not suitable for prosecution" and a court hearing originally scheduled for later today has been cancelled. The matter is now considered closed.

For those who missed the initial story, Atlas - real name Kenny Marquez - was arrested on 23 May due to an alleged incident relating to that weekend. Marquez's partner claimed that he was attacked by an intoxicated Atlas who scratched the victim's forearm and tore their tanktop. The police were later called to the apartment that the two shared, the wrestler "spoke badly" about the victim rather than give his side of the story, and officers labelled Atlas as the aggressor in this situation. Subsequently, a no-contact order was signed so that the 27-year-old had to keep 500 ft away from the victim at all times.

In addition to working for WWE under the NXT banner from 2019 to 2021, Jake Atlas made his AEW debut against Adam Cole on a January edition of Rampage. Unfortunately, Atlas suffered a torn ACL in that bout and has been out of action since.
