New Tag-Team Formed On WWE SmackDown
Say hello to the latest female tag-team WWE/Triple H has come up with.
WWE decided to form a brand new women's tag-team between Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi on this week's episode of SmackDown.
Raquel lost a one-on-one bout vs. Bayley on the show, but the match was notable for the amount of outside interference from IYO SKY and Dakota Kai. The numbers game was too much for Rodriguez, and it looked like Damage CTRL would beat her down afterwards as well.
That's when Shotzi (rather randomly) sprinted out for the rescue.
Bayley will be busy challenging Bianca Belair for the Raw Women's Title going forwards, so IYO and Dakota definitely needed fresh challengers for their newly-won Women's Tag straps. Shotzi will be viewed as a strange choice to buddy up with Raquel though - the green-haired, former-tank-loving star has been firmly heel for a while now.
Shotzi also hasn't been doing much of note solo, meaning she's hardly a step up from Aliyah. Rodriguez and Aliyah surprisingly won the Women's Tag-Team Titles by beating SKY and Kai in the final of WWE's recent tournament to establish new champs.
Expect Shotzi and Raquel to get their crack on TV soon.
