On an episode of his 'Something To Wrestle With' podcast series, former WWE creative team member Bruce Prichard remarked that Vince McMahon hasn't always been a fan of tag-team wrestling. This confirms the suspicions of many over the years, WWE's top man much prefers the art of one-on-one competition.

That's a crying shame, tag-team wrestling can be some of the most effective in-ring performance when handled correctly. At TakeOver, #DIY and The Revival proved that in rather concrete fashion.

Despite the risk of coming across like a bad case of post-show hyperbole before the adrenaline wears off, the 2-Out-Of-3-Falls bout produced by these tandems was one of WWE's greatest ever tag matches. It was that good, summed up by one epic near fall that fooled almost everybody watching.

Hitting their tag-team finisher on Dash Wilder, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano looked like they had the NXT Tag-Team Titles well in hand. At the very last second, Scott Dawson popped up out of nowhere and stopped the referee's count.

The live audience truly believed the match was a wrap, only making the near fall sweeter.
