Original AEW All Out 2022 Plans Revealed For Women's Title

How were things going to play out between Thunder Rosa and Toni Storm?

Last night's AEW Dynamite saw Thunder Rosa announce that she's unable to compete for the foreseeable future due to an undisclosed injury.

Previously, La Mera Mera was due to defend her AEW Women's Championship against Toni Storm at All Out next month. While a clearly emotional Rosa made it clear that she was not vacating her title, All Out will now see a four-way bout between Storm, Hikaru Shida, Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter to crown an intern Women's Champion.

Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that the original plan for All Out was for Thunder Rosa to lose the Women's Title to Toni Storm. As such, it remains to be seen whether Toni gets the nod at the PPV and walks out as the interim Women's Champ.

Despite rumours suggesting that Rosa has actually been suspended by AEW, that is categorically not the case. Instead, this is simply a case of the former NWA Women's Champion suffering an unfortunate injury issue ahead of one of AEW's biggest shows of the year.

As of this writing, there are no further details on how long Thunder Rosa will be out of action for, but hopefully the hugely talented star is back in the squared circle sooner rather than later.
