Post-WWE Wrestlemaina News Fallout

wrestlemania 29 There is a torrent of news that has broken and is doing the rounds after last night's Wrestlemaina show from MetLife stadium. This is a show that has been receiving mixed reviews by critics and fans but is a show that has yielded a gold mine of news, aside from a new WWE Champion in John Cena. The first piece of news comes from Adam Martin of Wrestleview.com. Martin is reporting that WWE issued on Sunday night that Wrestlemania has shatters previous records.
WWE® (NYSE: WWE) announced tonight that Wrestlemania 29 became the highest grossing live event in its history and broke the record for MetLife Stadium€™s highest grossing entertainment event. WWE€™s annual pop-culture extravaganza grossed $12.3 million, as 80,676 fans from all 50 states and 34 countries converged on MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey last night. Will something similar happen next year? Wrestlemaina XXX will be held on April 6, 2014 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Wrestlemania 29 Triple H Brock Lesnar Now onto some of the news regarding the matches that are being reported by PWInsider.com. Mike Johnson is reporting that Triple H had X-rays done on his arm last night after his match at Wrestlemania 29 with Brock Lesnar. The results of the X-rays have showed no signs of anything serious past some muscle bruising and some swelling in his hand. The damage seems to have come from the multiple "worked" Kimura, or key-lock, submission holds by Lesnar on Triple H during their match. Triple H beat Brock to save his career. Another high profile injury was born out of the Punk vs. Undertaker match. It now appears that both Undertaker and Punk will be taking some time off for the immediate future to recover. As I reported earlier, Punk is not booked past his match last night. There is an article on WhatCulture that discusses why this is needed and a good idea by the WWE. This should come as no surprise to those who follow Punk, as while he has been appearing on Raw every week, he has been kept out of the ring and was used in a mainly speaking role to promote their match and continue the storyline. Wrestlemania 29 The Undertaker Johnson is also reporting that CM Punk's leg was badly banged up in his match with The Undertaker last night at Wrestlemania 29. This apparently occurred when Punk hit a top rope elbow drop onto Taker on the announce table and the table did not break. This caused Punk to take the impact on his outside leg. It is said that a lot of people backstage were amazed that Punk didn't slow down after getting banged up and that he finished the match. Punk was said to be in a lot of pain backstage after the match. It is assumed that he will use to time to heal from the numerous injuries, including the latest one, that he has picked up. After Undertaker's victory last night to make his Streak 21 - 0, he will also take a stretch of time off. Keep it here for more WWE updates as they break.
