Predicting EVERYTHING That Will Happen On This Crazy Week Of Wrestling

4. Punk Pops Up

CM Punk The Fiend Chris Jericho

Predicting CM Punk's "imminent"/"inevitable" (delete as appropriate) return to professional wrestling has become a meme. 30 years from now, when the guy is 70 years old and still hasn't shown up, we'll likely be sitting here making the same predictions, hanging onto every tiny little social media tease like it's a sign of life from his five-years-dead pro-wrestling career.

So it only makes sense we do the same thing here, right?

Frivolity aside, Chick Magnet Phil's wrestling return is a lot likelier today than it was this time last year. All Out weekend saw the former 'Voice of the Voiceless' claim he wouldn't not talk to WWE. Then, last week, it was reported that he'd tried out for a spot on FS1's WWE Backstage show, and that things had gone well, with Punk likely to be offered a deal. That's not exactly a full-on wrestling return, but it's the strongest report we've had since he walked out on WWE in 2014.

So with WWE his likeliest destination and SmackDown WWE's flagship show now, perhaps he shows up to help pop the year's biggest crowd reaction on Friday night. Maybe.
