Predicting The Future Of 10 NXT Stars

4. The Authors Of Pain

It’s hard to picture Vince calling up The Authors of Pain and NOT seeing big things in mind for the current NXT Tag Team Champions.

While the two are getting a bit of a bad rap from some of the hardcore fans for their in-ring ability, considering their age (Akam is 23, Rezar is 22) they’re really not too bad at all, especially for this stage in their career. There have been MANY worse teams in WWE's history (see: The Dicks, The Gymini, The Heart Throbs)! They’ve already been in some solid matches with DIY, and there are a handful of teams on the current WWE roster who can at least carry them to passable matches.

Because of their look, and due to the push they’ve been getting in NXT, they’ll probably show up in WWE before too long; even if they're not ready for it. Both tag divisions could use The Authors, but Vince may want to make more of a statement by placing them on Raw. They could work with New Day, Enzo and Cass and Cesaro and Sheamus, which probably gives them a year's worth of feuds to go through.

Recent history may suggest their run may not go so hot, especially if you compare them to former NXT bulldozers in The Ascension, but unlike Viktor and Konnor, The Authors of Pain actually look the part.

Official prediction: Expect them to be called up by the end of 2017, with perhaps even a post-Mania Raw debut in the cards. They'll enjoy multiple runs with some tag titles before splitting up in 2019.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
