Predicting The Next 10 Years Of WWE WrestleMania Main Events

4. John Cena (C) Vs CM Punk - WrestleMania 37

At this point, Roman Reigns will have enjoyed his boom period, but we'd now be firmly back into a nostalgia boom. The cyclical nature of wrestling means that old acts inevitable become the most interesting narratives, simply because people remember them with the proverbial rose tinted glasses. We witnessed something similar at WrestleMania 26. The nostalgia draw of Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels meant they got the show closing spot. This next Mania decade we'll probably get another nostalgia match or two that ends up headlining, with John Cena vs CM Punk being a great call to make. The original Punk Vs Cena matches were some of the best in-ring action this century. If both stars finally came together on the big stage of Mania, for one last hurrah, it would be absolutely magical for long term fans to see. It would draw big, Cena and Punk were the two biggest names from 2011 to 2014 in WWE, and the quality of work they created is unforgettable. Who wins? Champion and still heel Cena retains. That allows him to put over a new babyface act in the summer. This match at Mania is purely for nostalgia, the result isn't so significant.
