Current Champion: Wes Lee
Who Will Hold It: Joe Coffey
Wes Lee will either move up the food chain on NXT or sink once he sheds his lengthy reign as North-American champ. There are rarely any guarantees about such things in WWE, so the company would need to be careful once taking the belt from him.
That shouldn't concern Joe Coffey though. The Scot has whipped himself into the physical shape of his life, and he's turning in excellent performance after excellent performance these days. Seeing that hard graft rewarded with championship gold sounds logical, and so does a reign for the Gallus member as North American titleholder.
Indy wrestling fans will know there's just something that looks right about Coffey sporting titles around his waist. He could use the North American "midcard belt" as a springboard to bigger and better things at the top of the tree eventually.
This simply needs to happen over the coming months.
