Predicting WWE’s WrestleMania 41 Cards - 1 Year Out
3. Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
Some of the lyrics in WWE's old Legacy theme bark: "Now we'll never look back, no we're never looking back". If Randy Orton targets his old protege Cody Rhodes and his freshly-won Undisputed Title, then that'll be an outright lie. The company would be looking back, albeit without mentioning fellow Legacy man Ted DiBiase Jr.
Google that one if you're confused as to why.
Randy is content to fill roles vacated by older names like The Undertaker these days. He doesn't need to be the centre of attention, but who could resist this sort of natural story? Orton getting increasingly frustrated that Cody doesn't want to fight him would be watchable television. "Watchable" would turn to pulsating once Mr. RKO turned heel again.
Fans would be split on who to cheer for regardless of the story and alignment, but Cody's fanbase is loud and passionate. He's sustained through failure, and people stood by him. Hearing Randy tell "Cody Crybabies" that he's responsible for moulding their hero into the man he is today sounds like a can't miss prospect.
