Ranking 10 WCW Stars' First Major WWE Matches

1. Hulk Hogan (vs. The Rock) - WrestleMania 18

On his first appearances back in WWE, Hulk Hogan was treated like a returning God, even though he was supposed to be a heel. The nWo weren't despised by audiences however, far from it, and it seemed only natural that Hogan would have to ditch the black and white colours of the faction at some point, once again embracing the red and yellow of his past. It may seem silly now, but fans demanded it - people desperately wanted to cheer Hogan, and that made for an interesting set of circumstances once the icon faced off against one of the most popular guys in the promotion, The Rock at Wrestlemania X8. The Toronto Skydome hadn't played host to a Hogan 'Mania match since the sixth edition of the event, where Hulkamania squared off with The Ultimate Warrior, and wrestling fans had been waiting years to heap adulation on Hogan. What followed was a strange match, with fans firmly in the corner of the heel, something which even The Rock had to acknowledge whilst the match was in progress. Nobody can call this a technical classic, but it wasn't necessarily about that. These men could have played poker in the middle of the ring, and the live crowd still would have went nuts - Hulk Hogan was back in WWE, and the political master was about to once again position himself as the top name in the company. The atmosphere, the aura and the buzz were mind-blowing during this match, and it stands proud as one of the biggest showdowns in Wrestlemania history, and surely the best example of a successful re-integration from WCW to WWE.
