Like her or hate her, Lacey Evans was forced down our throats in 2019 to the point where you couldn’t ignore her if you tried.

Evans spent months parading on the entrance ramp and doing absolutely nothing of note. And then she amazingly found herself competing for the Raw Women’s Championship numerous times as she became a focal point of the women’s division in mid-2019. The experiment was flaming hot garbage, and she thankfully disappeared from TV for a bit before retuning in the fall to feud with Natalya.

Then at Crown Jewel, Lacey and Nattie had the distinction of wrestling the first women’s match in Saudi Arabia, a match Natalya won. But it showed how highly WWE thought of Evans to have her compete in that match. Lacey also was part of SmackDown’s Survivor Series women’s team and has seemingly turned face to close out the year.

While this column has been critical of Evans throughout her entire run, it’s hard to discount the fact that WWE has kept her in the spotlight, making her debut one of the successes in 2019.
