If Lawrence Taylor versus Bam Bam Bigelow is the best no-frills singles celebrity match in WrestleMania history, this is simply the best singles bout of its kind.

The build to Johnny Knoxville taking on Sami Zayn in an Anything Goes Match at WrestleMania 38 was not everyone’s cup of tea, with Knoxville’s brand of comedy sometimes skewing a bit too silly even for pro wrestling. On the night, however, Knoxville and Zayn delivered one of the most highly entertaining plunder spectacles ever witnessed.

The duo used props to great effect, with the Jackass star needing every trick in the book – a bowling ball, an air horn, a giant mousetrap, and Wee Man – to overcome Sami and finally put him down for the count. Even admitted skeptics came out of the match howling with delight, happy to be proven wrong on the night.

What makes this even better is that the humiliation of that night drove Zayn to seek out the Bloodline, which kicked off an improbable storyline that culminated in the main event of WrestleMania 39 night one.
