6. Drew McIntyre (Royal Rumble 2021)

Man, looking back on the "ThunderDome" era is seriously weird now.

Those delayed reactions on countless TV screens in the background were no substitute for organic, in-person atmosphere, but (just as they wouldn't when retreating to the quaint PC for 'Mania 36) WWE didn't have much choice. They had to try something to keep shows going.

Drew and Bill were in no mood to mess about when the 2021 Royal Rumble pay-per-view came around. They were first out the curtain on the main card, and only worked for 2:33 before McIntyre put Goldberg down to retain his WWE Title.

No, it won't win any awards or anything, but Drew vs. Goldberg was an improvement on some of the earlier matches examined here. It didn't pretend to be something it wasn't, and was geared towards making McIntyre look like a new breed of powerhouse who could take Bill's greatest hits and keep on moving forwards.

Perfectly acceptable stuff.
