Following his feud with The Shield in 2013 and 2014, Randy Orton wound up aligning with two of his biggest rivals in recent years, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, at the close of 2015.

Their partnership came about after The Wyatt Family viciously attacked Orton on the September 7 episode of Raw, and upon his return two weeks later, he exacted a measure of revenge by aiding Ambrose and Reigns in their assault on the faction.

Reigns and Ambrose were unsure of Orton initially, especially since their last few partners proved to be untrustworthy (Seth Rollins stabbed them in the back and Chris Jericho walked out on them at Night of Champions), but The Viper was willing to coexist with his former foes.

On October 5, Orton, Reigns and Ambrose emerged victorious over The Wyatt Family in a scintillating six-man tag team match. Their feud continued in the weeks that followed with Orton and Ambrose scheduled to face Luke Harper and Braun Strowman on the Hell in a Cell Kickoff show.

Days before the pay-per-view, however, it was announced that an injury had sidelined Orton from action indefinitely, leaving fans to wonder what could have been had this trio been around a little longer.
