The greatest performance of Lesnar's WrestleMania resume is his battle with Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship in the main event of the nineteenth incarnation of The Granddaddy of Them All.

The NCAA wrestling champion waged war with the 1996 Olympic gold medalist in one of the most anticipated matches of the 2000s. It was a match oozing athleticism, a contest between two of the most legitimate ass-kickers to ever lace a pair of boots.

The question "what if?" was answered in grand fashion as Lesnar and Angle delivered to fans in Seattle and around the world the modern day equivalent to a dream match.

Even more impressive is the quality of contest the Superstars produced despite Angle working with a severely injured neck that would require surgery mere days later.

They worked around the injury and delivered a stiff, snug, intense battle that climaxed with Lesnar climbing the ropes for a rare high-risk maneuver. As he launched himself off with the Shooting Star Press, a move he had used before, it was clear he had undershot Angle.

Lesnar landed on his head in one of the scariest moments in WrestleMania history.

Despite a concussion, he recovered just in time to plant Angle with the F-5 and score the victory.

The botched finish aside, the match was a piece of live-action art; a display of pure athleticism on sports-entertainment's grandest stage. Lesnar's victory established him as the guy in professional wrestling and set up another series of extraordinary matches to come later in the year.
