Ranking Each Of Randy Orton’s 12 World Title Wins

8. WWE Championship Fatal 4-Way (Raw, June 15 2009)

With an injured Batista vacating the WWE Championship, it was announced that a new champion would be crowned on the Jun 15 2009 showing of Raw in a Fatal 4-Way bout.

Orton was joined by Triple H, John Cena and the Big Show in an exciting multi-man affair that delivered a suitably frantic conclusion. Finishers and pinfall attempts were traded between Cena and Triple H on Big Show, until Cena looked set to win the gold after an Attitude Adjustment on Show. But, at the final moment, Orton snuck in, disposed of Cena, and hit the RKO to snatch both the victory and the title for himself.

Again, though, a couple of factors detracted from this win slightly. For starters, the match was relatively short-lived, lasting just over 11 minutes for what will go down as one of the briefest of Orton’s title wins. Also, it was let down by taking place surprisingly early in the show, and was overshadowed by the fact that it largely played second fiddle to Donald Trump’s kayfabe purchase of Raw.

Had this one taken place on PPV and been afforded slightly more time, it may well have ranked a little higher.
