Ranking Edge's WWE SummerSlam Matches From Worst To Best
2. vs Undertaker (2008)
Their WrestleMania main event is often considered one of the most underrated, but for those who like a little more silliness, the SummerSlam Hell In A Cell clash is even more fun. From the build to the post-match nonsense, this is simply a blast, with wild spots complimented by great in-ring skills from two pros.
The story sees Edge petrified to face The Undertaker in his first Cell match, and the enjoyably hammy Adam Copeland sells the horror with eye bulging, hair tugging intensity. Undertaker, meanwhile, is a study in stoicism, ready to do business in familiar terrain.
Few rivals made Edge look as good as ‘Taker, and he gives the smaller man some amazing spots, getting rammed through the wall of the cage, and a fantastic spear incorporating a dash across two announce tables before impacting through the third.
Undertaker wins, and, yes, he then chokeslams Edge from a ladder, through the mat, and into a pit which then bursts into flames. We’re, presumably, to surmise that Edge has literally been sent to hell. Sounds daft, is daft, but it’s also a blast.
