Ranking Every General Manager In WWE Raw History

1. Eric Bischoff

Sometimes, you just can't top the original, and Eric Bischoff was far and away the greatest general manager in Raw history.

From instituting the World Heavyweight Championship as a top title on Raw to creating the Elimination Chamber match (in storyline), Bischoff was a revolutionary leader during his time on top from 2002 and 2005. When Mr. McMahon announced the concept of general managers running Raw and SmackDown, no one expected to see Eric Bischoff - the ex-president of World Championship Wrestling and consequently Vince's arch nemesis - make amends with the Chairman live on Raw.

That moment in of itself was iconic, not to mention the next three years of his reign as Raw GM were undeniably awesome. Even by then, heel authority figures were a tired trope in wrestling, but Bischoff played the part to perfection. His slimy demeanor forced fans to despise all of his actions and want to see Stone Cold Steve Austin or whoever else give him his comeuppance.

A major part of WWE's Ruthless Aggression era, he set a standard for future general managers that no one has yet reached, let alone surpassed. With the position currently vacant, perhaps a phone call should be made to the first ever Raw GM. Even if his return run didn't last long, it would be a brilliant way of promoting his new WWE-produced documentary, which was released just this past week.
