Ranking Every General Manager In WWE Raw History

15. Brad Maddox

Raw General Managers

As previously noted, general managers were an important part of the Brand Split upon its inception in 2002, but by 2013, they were hardly necessary, especially with The Authority around. They didn't exactly have much on-screen power, and when they did make decisions, they were ultimately overruled by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. In so many words, the role of a general manager was meaningless.

Unfortunately, Brad Maddox took the title of Raw general manager at a time when the position had zero value. He replaced Vickie Guerrero in July 2013 and did nothing of note for the remainder of his run. The only things he is remembered for during his stint are getting emasculated by Stephanie and undermined by Triple H.

Maddox showed signs of potential, but he was far too awkward of a character. Although he was a talented talker, he never looked completely comfortable on the mic, and most of his promos fell flat as a result. The GM position was the only thing keeping him around because once he was fired in storyline; it wasn't long before he was fired for real.

Perhaps he would have had a better stint had he been given the reins of Raw years earlier.
