Ranking Every Goldberg Match In WWE Since His 2016 Return

In Goldberg’s return to WWE, only three times would a match go longer than six minutes. Of all people, two of those outings are against The All Mighty. Of those matchups, this was clearly the worse of the two bouts.

This was yet another example in a growing line of times Goldberg would return just to be quickly placed in a feud for a world championship. At SummerSlam 2021, neither Bobby Lashley nor Goldberg would come out of this WWE Championship clash looking strong. Goldberg was made to look weak, losing by referee stoppage, while Bobby Lashley failed to live up to his Almighty moniker, needing the help of MVP to defend his championship.

At this point, fans who had just returned to WWE events, were so against Goldberg that even beating down Goldberg’s son post-match could not turn them in the former WCW Champions favor. Thankfully these two would make up for this clunker of a match a few months later in Saudi Arabia.
