Ranking Every Hell In A Cell Match In WWE History - From Worst To Best
13. John Cena Vs. CM Punk Vs. Alberto Del Rio
In a rather unique Triple Threat Hell in a Cell match, props are due to John Cena, CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio for making such interesting use of the Cell structure in their 2011 showdown.
After some frenetic multi-man moments, Del Rio would eventually manage to lock Cena out of the Cell, isolating Punk before battering him with a lead pipe to pick up a crafty win. The Cell was then utilised once more in the post-match fallout, with a hooded Miz and R-Truth storming the ring to attack the trio as the caging was then mysteriously lowered again.
Given that a number of previous entries on this list have made the Cell stipulation appear redundant, it was rather refreshing to see such a novel twist on this match and the possibilities it presents—proof that there’s still room in the modern era for innovative Hell in a Cell meetings.
