Ranking Every Hell In A Cell Match In WWE History - From Worst To Best

8. Triple H Vs. Shawn Michaels

I used to rate this match a little more highly on account of its extraordinary lengthy, but after revisiting it, it’s that very length that has since become something of an Achilles heel and made me sour on it somewhat.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels’ epic Hell in a Cell clash from Bad Blood 2004 clocked in at a staggering 47 minutes, which is a pretty awesome feat of endurance, although it does mean that the match became rather sluggish as it drew towards its conclusion. As in, sluggish to the point that it pretty much came to a standstill for the final few minutes before Triple H won via the Pedigree.

That being said, it isn’t much of a surprise given that we saw table spots, steel steps, ladders, chairs and blood—lots of blood—over the course of their battle.

If lengthy epics are your cup of tea, you may regard this as one of the greatest ever. As historic an achievement as this one represents though, I can’t help but feel that they might have slightly overcooked it here.
