Becoming the longest-reigning Knockouts Champion in history at the start of the year was the pinnacle of Taya Valkyrie's 2020, with her record reign ending at the hands of Jordynne Grace in Mexico. That's not to say she didn't do anything decent post-reign, though, as she had superb contests with Grace and Tessa Blanchard after dropping the title, and even turned babyface to align herself with Rosemary. There, matches with Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz further strengthened Valkyrie's 2020 in-ring résumé.

Making it to the semifinals of the Knockouts Tag Team Championships Tournament alongside 'The Demon Assassin', Taya ended the year by slotting herself back into the Knockouts Championship picture. She'll challenge Deonna Purrazzo on 16 January, which is arguably the greatest decision for her Impact career right now.
