A coin toss determined Bret would get his match with the winner of Lex Luger vs. Yokozuna, but to make it fair, Bret was also scheduled to have a match (a much better match) with his brother Owen. Bret lost his match to Owen, but did so in a way that didn't make the prospect of him then winning the WWE title contradictory. His match with Yokozuna was brief (yet longer than at WM9) and stuck to the tried and tested method of big man vs. little man. The match was plodding in places, but still effective. The finish came when Yokozuna attempted the Banzai Drop but fell backwards off the ropes, allowing Bret to pin him. It wasn't the most satisfying of endings, but Bret's victory got a positive reaction from the crowd. The celebration following the match is now iconic, with the good guys from the locker room coming to the ring to congratulate Bret, lifting him onto their shoulders in the ring. The ending of Wrestlemania X was the moment the WWE was getting behind Bret as a champion, and as its main star; as well as righting the wrong that was the ending of Wrestlemania IX.
