Stan Stasiak is the purists' transitional Champion in just how much of a footnote he feels despite performing a very important duty for the company in the role.

His 9 days with the belt made a crushing mockery of the incredible 1000+ Pedro Morales had spent with it before him, but returning the gold to territory icon Bruno Sammartino was top of Vince McMahon Sr's list. Stasiak was literally 'The Man' for the job.
