Ranking Every WCW Champion In History - From Worst To Best
11. Lex Luger
While Lex Luger’s career in WWE is perhaps best-remembered for his aborted mega push in the summer of 1993, his record from his WCW days will provide him with rather more fond memories.
Luger won the top prize in WCW on two separate occasions; first, during his initial run with the organisation in 1991, before striking gold again in 1997 after returning to his former stomping ground.
It’s that second stint that arguably made the most shockwaves, given that it arrived after Luger had surprisingly defected from the WWF. On paper though, the first run was probably the more successful overall since it yielded an admirable 230-day reign with the belt.
After winning the vacant title at the 1991 Great American Bash, Luger remained champ until February of 1992 when he lost to Sting at SuperBrawl II, in what would eventually go down as the fourth-longest reign in the entire history of the championship.
