Ranking Every WWE Elimination Chamber Match In History
11. John Cena Vs. CM Punk Vs. John Morrison Vs. Sheamus Vs. Randy Orton Vs. R-Truth (Elimination Chamber 2011)
Speaking of those finishes that fans were growing tired of, fast forward five years to 2011 and we were still seeing Cena overcome the odds, this time in racking up his third Elimination Chamber success at the 2011 PPV.
Don't let that detract from the entire match though, as this was another that benefited from some interesting sub-stories embedded throughout, such as the bubbling rivalry between CM Punk and Randy Orton.
After Punk had cost Orton the WWE Championship at the recent Royal Rumble show, Orton had seemingly gained some revenge by eliminating Punk in this one. However, this prompted an intervention from the Anonymous Raw General Manager, who reversed the decision on the grounds that Punk ‘wasn’t ready’ after the lock on his pod had got jammed.
The insult to injury arrived soon after, when Punk himself would eliminate Orton and set up their WrestleMania encounter.
This match was also aided by John Morrison’s high-flying shenanigans, delivering a cross-body from the top of the Chamber, and while the outcome may have suffered from its predictability, it had still been a solid showing nonetheless.
