Ranking EVERY WWE Money In The Bank Pay-Per-View
6. 2018
Now we start venturing towards the better half of the Money In The Bank pay-per-views, as we reach 2018's edition of the show.
This event's Women's ladder match was much better overall than the effort from the year prior. Each woman performed brilliantly, especially Becky Lynch who was incredibly over at this point. Alexa Bliss deserved to win this match, as she proved later in the night when she cashed in on Nia Jax to claim the Raw Women's Championship.
Also, the men's spectacle was once again full of huge spots and jaw-dropping moments, with Braun Strowman's eventual victory being thoroughly deserved (even if it resulted in a failed cash-in later in the year).
Seth Rollins was in the midst of his amazing run as Intercontinental Champion, and he put on another outstanding performance at this show.
However, as with any pay-per-view, there were also negatives. Namely, the matches between Big Cass and Daniel Bryan, as well as Bobby Lashley and Sami Zayn. Both of these matches were less than spectacular, as was - unfortunately - AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura.
The bout between the two was hyped up as a potential dream match and it failed to live up to those expectations, with the over-reliance on low blows bringing it down.
Also, Roman Reigns vs. Jinder Mahal was hated by the live Chicago crowd, with a number of chants being heard throughout the match that overshadowed the action in the ring. In addition to that, James Ellsworth's return made Asuka look ridiculous when she should have been portrayed as a ruthless, intimidating superstar.
Victories for the former 'Mixed Match Challenge' team, paired with Rollins' outstanding performance, are enough to rank this event slightly higher than the previous year's attempt.
