Ranking Every WWE Money In The Bank Winner’s Run With The Briefcase
2. Dolph Ziggler, 2012
At 267 days, Dolph Ziggler’s reign with the Money in the Bank briefcase was one of the three longest in history, and naturally that meant there was plenty going on during his run.
Twice he was forced to defend the contract, first against Chris Jericho on the August 20 showing of Raw—a match that ended up writing Jericho off TV for a number of months—and then again in the main event of TLC 2012 against the seemingly untouchable John Cena. On both occasions, he ended up the victor, while he was also the last man standing at Survivor Series 2012, further prepping him for the main event scene that he’d shortly be bursting into.
And even though his time at the top proved relatively brief, the way in which it came about was nothing short of awesome. Spurred on by a wild New Jersey crowd, Ziggler cashed in on Alberto Del Rio the night after WrestleMania 29 for one of the biggest pops in recent memory, and the kind of cash-in that few have been able to top since.
