Once in a Lifetime... until it wasn't.

This WrestleMania XXVIII rematch was always going to struggle to live up to its predecessor, and that was indeed the case with the Rock and John Cena locked up for the Great One's WWE Title at WrestleMania 29.

Here, there wasn't the same level of attraction as there was in seeing these two face off for the first time ever, plus there was no way to match the genuine surprise at seeing the Rock best Cena a year prior. Plus, some fans felt a little slighted that WWE had gone so hard in promoting that 'Mania XXVIII as a one-time deal that would never be repeated.

Given his fleeting WWE schedule and extensive other commitments, there was also realistically no way that the Rock would walk out of WrestleMania 29 as the WWE Champion, which took away some of the drama of the contest. As for the contest itself, the first half of its 24 minutes was largely spent doing, well, nothing of note. From there, there were numerous kick-outs from finishers, there was plenty of gesticulating, and Cena eventually got the win after landing a third Attitude Adjustment.
