23. WrestleMania X8 - Chris Jericho Vs. Triple H

One has to feel sorry for Chris Jericho.

Finally afforded the chance to be the guy as the Undisputed Champion - defeating The Rock and Steve Austin in one night to achieve that honour, nonetheless - his time to headline a WrestleMania saw him become the fourth wheel in a farce involving Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and their dog Lucy. Of course, that match also had to follow the Rock vs. Hollywood Hogan.

Both Jericho and Hunter worked hard here, putting on a decent back-and-forth bout where Triple H was fighting against the odds due to a worked knee injury and interference from Stephanie. The Game looked like a tough-as-nails babyface, Y2J looked like a cocksure prick, and the match was technically sound - it was just that the Toronto crowd was goosed after Rock vs. Hogan.
