Where: Survivor Series 2001.

This is the first WCW vs. WWF/WWE unification on the list.

At Survivor Series 2001, Edge beat Test in a fun-enough 11-minute scrap to join the WCW United States and WWF Intercontinental Titles together. That, to older fans, was a pretty surreal moment. It was also odd that Edge (the WWF guy) held WCW's belt, and Test (the Alliance member) held the WWF's.

In fairness, this decision was made to eliminate the glut of midcard titles littering the lower cards. WWE wouldn't bring the US Title back until introducing their own, aesthetically superior, version in July 2003. All things considered, this was a solid enough showing from both guys and achieved its intended purpose nicely.

It won't sit well with some that the company favoured IC here but wiped their ass with it approx one year later at No Mercy. At least the midcard pack had one less championship to worry about though.
