Another year, another Edge Money in the Bank cash-in.

He hadn't won the ladder match for the briefcase this time, eventually goading winner Mr Kennedy into putting the case on the line. Edge would cash it in on The Undertaker of all people, who had just been beaten down by Mark Henry. The cash-in trope was still fresh at the time, and Edge looked opportunistic yet smart in the process.

His 70-day run would come to an end via injury, but it is easy to assume the reign would have lasted a lot longer had his left pectoral muscle not found itself in a torn state. Edge defended the title against Batista on three occasions, which sounds more impressive than it was.

A reign cut short by injury, it was further confirmation that if he could stay injury-free, Edge was going to be champion again.
