7. Hulk Hogan Teams Up With Shawn Michaels and John Cena - Raw (27 June 2005)
Hogan made a surprise appearance on Raw during the summer of 2005 when he turned out to be the mystery partner of Shawn Michaels and WWE Champion John Cena. Cena had just arrived on Raw and had no friends to serve as his tag team partners. Thankfully, Michaels stepped up to help him, and also made the call to Hogan.
As we weren't expecting Hogan to appear, it was a genuine surprise to see him back so soon after his last tag team run with Michaels. But given that the 4th July edition of Raw was just around the corner, it made sense for WWE's American hero to return — and what a fun return it was.
Seeing him in action on Raw was an incredibly rare sight in 2005. And while that certainly set this apart from previous comebacks, the fact that he teamed with Michaels and Cena made it even better. We may not have known then how successful Cena would go on to become, but looking back on this now definitely makes us smile because seeing these three WWE staples together in the ring was undoubtedly a moment in time where the past, present and future collided.
