Ranking The Importance Level Of Every Active WWE Championship Title
1. WWE Championship
Unsurprisingly, the WWE Championship is the most prestigious prize in all of WWE today. Although that's the way it should be, that hasn't always been the case.
Yes, the WWE title having the longest lineage of any other current championship (dating as far back as 1963) helps, but it's really a matter of how the title has been treated in the last year or so and especially recently. AJ Styles held the gold for almost all of 2018 before losing it to Daniel Bryan in November, who rejuvenated his character upon turning heel. He had a great reign and served as a fantastic foil for Kofi Kingston heading into WrestleMania 35.
Their WWE Championship match at 'Mania was one of the best in years, and since capturing the title, Kingston has unquestionably been the best booked champion in the entire company. He's gone undefeated for over three months, has successfully defended his title at every turn, and is still incredibly over with the audience.
The only issue with Kingston's reign is that he lacks a true formidable foe, but that could be addressed once he defeats Dolph Ziggler again at Stomping Grounds. Even after he inevitably loses the title to someone else, here's hoping the WWE Championship remains the company's crown jewel.
It's been refreshing to see a title in WWE protected so well for a change, but now they need to follow that same formula for the rest of them.
