Ranking The Importance Level Of Every Active WWE Championship Title
2. Universal Championship
If we were writing this list even three months ago, the Universal Championship would have ranked a lot lower down, to say the least.
For almost two years, Brock Lesnar was an absentee Universal champion and defended the title only a handful of times. Most of his matches fell flat and it was difficult to care about the belt knowing Lesnar would always come out on top. No one really benefited from his reign of terror, which is why Seth Rollins beating him for the prize at WrestleMania 35 in a matter of minutes couldn't have happened any sooner.
Much like his significant other Becky Lynch, Rollins doesn't have the same type of momentum right now as he once did, but he is a vast improvement over Lesnar in the role and has consistently delivered. Having wrestled almost every week on Raw since the Show of Shows, he is the definition of a fighting champion.
The only thing Rollins would benefit from is stronger competition. His match at Money in the Bank with AJ Styles was spectacular, but the Baron Corbin matches have left a lot to be desired. It doesn't help that Raw couldn't be less interesting these days, and Rollins is being dragged down the subpar quality of the show as a result.
