Ranking What Was REALLY The Best Wrestling PPV Every Year 1990-2020

30. 1991 - WCW WrestleWar

Headlined by a tremendous WarGames match, it is best remembered for Brian Pillman's encounters with the roof.

One of the most innovative minds of the 1990s, Pillman used it to convincingly take down Barry Windham with a creative headscissors. Sid Vicious, one of the dumbest minds of the 1990s, forgot it was there when he set up for the powerbomb. Unable to complete the arc, he dropped Pillman directly into his head. For moments of high drama crafted and unintended, the match ruled.

There was much to enjoy elsewhere on a card of much range. Lex Luger entered a super performance in a match that acts as evidence that he didn't need to be carried. Bobby Eaton and Brad Armstrong, never confused for that caveat, worked a fine wrestler's wrestling match on the undercard. Two very, very different matches - the Vader Vs. Stan Hansen short-form hoss fight, and the vibrant, vicious joshi exhibition - rounded out an all-timer of a sh*t era, awesome show PPV.
