Ranking What Was REALLY The Best Wrestling PPV Every Year 1990-2020

1. 2020 - AEW Revolution

PAC Orange Cassidy
AEW

Among the last normal days of old world pro wrestling, the state of the locked-down industry is all the more bittersweet because it is no exaggeration to state that it was also among the very best.

We've seen better top-to-bottom pro wrestling cards. Hell, AEW have promoted better top-to-bottom pro wrestling cards. But Revolution was the height of feeling; an excellent show engulfed in a feel-good vibe, the G.O.A.T-level build manifested in euphoria.

Darby Allin scored his first major AEW win, following an intricate long-term arc, in a deranged sprint over Sammy Guevara. Orange Cassidy, following an intricate long-term arc, entered an astonishing, rapturously-received breakout performance complete with a legendary comeback in a superb, characterful match with PAC. Jon Moxley, following an intricate long-term arc, ascended to Ace status by capturing the AEW World Title from Chris Jericho in a riot of a shortcut brawl.

Cody Vs. MJF was uneven, but it got MJF, following an intricate long-term arc, over as a main event-level heel, and Kenny Omega and Hangman Page retained the World Tag Team Titles over the Young Bucks in a mind-blowing hybrid of work and astonishingly layered story.

It was the greatest tag team match ever. Intricate, long-term arc doesn't begin to cover it.
