Ranking WWE's 2016 Pay-Per-View Endings From Worst To Best
8. No Mercy
What happened: No Mercy 2016 was a strong PPV outing for Smackdown, featuring two great matches - WWE World Champion AJ Styles defended his belt against John Cena and Dean Ambrose in a triple-threat bout, while Dolph Ziggler put his career on the line against The Miz's Intercontinental Title. Either of those bouts would have made fine headliners, but since the show was airing opposite the U.S. presidential debate, WWE's decision-makers chose to put the WWE World Title match on first. The main event ended up featuring Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt, whose feud had been setting new lows for wrestling TV over the previous month.
Why it was meh: To be fair, the ending itself was kind of cool - Randy Orton looked to have the win sewn up when the lights went out. When they came back on, Luke Harper - who had been missing since an injury suffered in March - was in the ring. His distraction allowed Wyatt to hit Sister Abigail for the win. Still, as cool as it was to see the best worker in The Wyatt Family back in action, this match still didn't need to headline the show. Overall, it was hard to get too excited.
