4. TLC 2020
An event that did little spectacularly well but almost nothing badly, TLC used its stipulations along with some exciting new feuds to craft an impressive show with which to cap off the year. The only real dud note was Asuka and Charlotte competing for Jax and Baszler’s tag belts, but that was more due to the odd mismanagement of all four talents than the match itself.
Elsewhere The Hurt Business closed a superlative 2020 with an excellent effort against The New Day, becoming Raw tag team champions in the process. Sasha took on Carmella in a quality scrap, though the inevitablility of The Boss’ win slightly tarnished things.
Drew and A.J fought for the WWE Championship in a TLC match that didn’t really need the stipulation, and certainly didn’t need The Miz’s insertion with his MITB briefcase; still, the two worked well together and can hopefully lock up again.
Best was Reigns vs Owen round 1 - Owens’ selflessness made Reigns look like a true destroyer, and in turn the Canadian was given his best programme in a while. The whole event ended with Randy Orton setting Bray Wyatt on fire and then doing his little pose, which really sums up a mad year.
